I am still getting over a cold, so i did not get up and run this morning, which i was really looking forward to. My colleague and i did get out for the afternoon though and walk around Paris. I forgot my GPS logger, so i had to plot it by hand. We walked for about 5 hours and covered 7.24 miles! We walked from our hotel to the Eiffel Tower, then over to the Louvre and back to the Eiffel Tower. We took a taxi back from the Eiffel Tower to the hotel because it was getting late and we were hungry!

Run through the France Countryside
Thanks to Google Earth, i found a nice running trail right near my hotel! It was a combination run/walk. I stopped mid way around and took pictures and enjoyed the scenery a bit, then when i got back into town, i wandered through a few stores. I was unfortunately looking for a pharmacy as i'm coming down with a cold :-(

195 Milestone Reached!
It has taken me 6 weeks to get back on track, but things are progressing well. I hit 195 pounds this week and am determined to make it to 190 by the end of October! I also started keeping track of how far i've run as well as how much time. From August until now i've logged 54 miles!
Should only take me another 50 miles to get to 190! We will see if that holds true.

Tough climb back on......
Well, i wish i could say i was off running at another exotic location last week, but unfortunately i wasn't. I was in Hamburg, Germany on business, and although i took my running gear (and was looking forward to running), i was so swamped with work and school that i didn't get to. I barely got any sleep, much less time to run.
The good news is that i maintained my weight. Weighed in at 197 today and still managed to get in a 4 mile run, though as you can see from the speed view, i slowed down significantly at the end.

Finally Making Progress
This past week was a brutal one at work and with school, so i did not get to run at all. The good news, is that it looks like i have my diet and exercise going at the right balance. I have finally started to see my weight start the downturn with 3 pounds lost this week - down to 197. If i can maintain my diet and squeeze in as much exercise as i can over the next few weeks, i could be under the 195 mark by the end of September and maybe even getting close to that elusive 190 target i've been wanting to hit for the past couple of years!
Anyway, Monika and i did manage to catch up on a little bit of sleep last night and took a quick run this morning before having to hit the books again.....

Back to the streets of Atlanta
Today was my first morning back in Atlanta and the good news is i didn't gain any weight on my vacation - the bad news is i didn't lose any either. Weighed in right at 200 today, so i won't complain as i ate like a horse all week! Was a good 3.8 mile run this morning at a decent pace to get me back into it.

A week on the beach!
You may have thought i quit exercising for the week, but Monika and i were actually hiding away in the Carribean! That didn't stop us from exercising though - and thank goodness we did. We were in Punta Canna in the Dominican Republic.
We had a great time and ate too much, but thanks to the early morning run every day we didn't gain any weight! I could definitely handle getting up and running on the beach every day! It was beautiful; hot, but very beautiful. We ran 15 miles over the course of the week. Pics and details below as always!
Be sure to check out the birds eye view that will give you a feel for our runs on the beach!
